Agricultural Curtains Tab

L&L Sales and Service, Inc. utilizes the highest quality of materials for our superior, long lasting, agricultural curtain systems. Barn curtains allow you to keep your animals cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, by allowing or restricting the airflow into your facility. Curtains can also be used for light management, with different materials allowing different light penetration. We design each system to fulfill your needs, whether for naturally ventilated facilities or for tunnel ventilation inlets. Our curtains can be designed for manual operation, either by crank or push button, or setup on controls to operate your curtains automatically.
Curtain System

  • End drives or center drives available
  • Adjustable for summer or winter ventilation
  • Heavy gauge galvanized end pockets, help protect the drive system and outlast curtain end pockets
  • Galvanized windpipes versus wind ropes that rip and fray
  • PVC coated wire mesh to protect the curtains from nosy animals
  • Optional cattle panel for added protection
  • Aluminum keder rails and tubes allow ease of installation versus a pocket and conduit
  • Curtain fabric is made with 14 x 14 folded tapes per inch weave allowing the strength and flexibility to work in a variety of applications.
  • Curtain fabric has clear coating with clear scrim (white also available)
  • Heat welded seams for rope or pockets standard, this prevents tearing and fraying
  • Multiple operations available to best suit your facility and needs
  • Most systems designed to use a maximum of 6’ fabric. Fabric over 6’ tends to “whip” in the wind which can be noisy as well as cause premature failure.

Operations

Single Roll Up
Single roll up curtains work just like it sounds, a single piece of fabric that rolls up from the bottom.
Double Roll Up
Double roll up curtains, our most popular system, use two roll up systems to fill larger openings. The lower curtain can be attached to the building using a keder rail to a curtain board or a mounting bracket attached to building columns with a keder tube if a curtain board is not present. Double roll up curtains are typically designed for 70% of the opening at the bottom and 30% at the top.

Middle Roll Up
Middle roll up curtains roll in the middle of the opening utilizing two pieces of fabric inserted into a keder tube and operate the curtain from this “middle tube”. This system is mainly used on taller openings, parlor curtain doors or for tunnel ventilation inlets. A roll up system can be added above the middle roll up for even taller openings.

Cable Down
Cable Down curtains are most commonly used on facilities where we want the air to enter the facility high on the sidewall. Many barns currently have this system however producers dislike the bunching effect when lowered. Rodents tend to get into the bunched curtain fabric at the bottom and create holes.

Cable Down and Roll Up
Cable down and roll up curtains cable down from the top but also roll up from the bottom. This allows us to still bring the air in the barn high on the sidewalls but also allows us to roll the bottom up removing the bunching effect when lowered. Many producers like this system because we can store the curtain high on the sidewall when the curtains are fully open.

Cable Down and Roll Up Over Roll Up
Cable down and roll up over roll up curtains are where we utilize a cable down and roll up curtain on the top of the opening and a roll up system on the bottom portion of the opening.
